The Asterisk Amateur Radio Network – Madison Huntsville Alabama Group will have a very important meeting on 18 August 2008 at 6:30pm -7:30.
The meeting place is the same as before, which is 6380 Pulaski Pike, NW, Huntsville, AL.
The directions: At the intersection of Pulaski Pike and University Drive, turn on Pulaski Pike to go north about 8-10 miles. With in the 8-10 miles you will pass the intersection Pulaski Pike and Wind Chester, continue on Pulaski Pike for one more mile look to your right, you will see two Churches, look for the Church that slightly set on o hill and a red brick building, which would be the second church on the right.
Turn at the red brick mail box and come around to the GYM. This will be the meeting place. I’ll set up a talk in on Harlie’s (KB4CRG) 444.575 +offset, PL 100hz
We will have the Bamawisp (A Wireless Internet Service Provider) site team there to give us the total run down on what it’s going to cost us to run the site as a group, they will also give us access information for Cap Shaw Mountain and we will be talking about the test Repeater/remote system that will be going on the hill top. I’ll also entertain those who are interested in building there on Full Duplex or Simplex AllStar nodes.
At this web site you can see the growth of the All Star System ( http://allstarlink.org/). So please come out to support the historic meeting. We need the monetary support as a group for the site location and to place the test system on the air. It will be one of the first Asterisk Amateur Radio Network system in the area and looking to build the network through the state and beyond. We have some technical support from Atlanta, GA and San Diego/Los Angles, CA. Also web site support with lots of information from Derby KS. We just need to come together as a group and make it all work.
Oh, if you can’t make it to the meeting, please send an e-mail to let me know you would like to be a supported and I will put you on the list for the ground breaking system crew, which will be place on the web site (http://asteriskradio.net/). Scroll down until you see the Asterisk Amateur Radio Network (AARN ) and you will see information from the last meeting as well as up to date. If the link broke for some reason let the website administrator know. The proposed system information from the first meeting is available at http://searn.alertradio.net/blog/aarn-mhal/
Like to make a trip up to the site the following weekend to collect information for the plotted coverage of the site using a program call Radio Mobile. Would need some one with a GPS to take site information. Thanks and hope to see you all there Monday.
